Weld Continuity Changes
10/22/2007

This letter is notification that ASME Section IX now requires that any welding continuity performed at a UA Training Facility must have a Contractor Representative present.

October 3, 2007

Dear Brothers/Sisters:

This letter is notification that ASME Section IX now requires that any welding continuity performed at a UA Training Facility must have a Contractor Representative present.

This now requires Local 9 to schedule welding continuity for those who cannot have it performed on –the-job.

It is recommended that whenever possible Weld Continuity forms be filled out and signed by a Contractor or a designated Representative on the job.

The forms shall be faxed by the welder (as before) to 732-446-0171 or mailed by the welder to Local 9 Training Center, #450 Route #33, Englishtown, NJ  07726.

Please do not depend on the contractor to fax or mail your continuity.

THIS IS YOUR RESPONSIBILTY.

The procedure is as follows if you need to perform continuity at LU9TC:

Please call the Training Center in advance of your expiration date. Local 9 will need to schedule a Contractor Representative as well as a Local 9 Authorized Test Representative to be present on a specific evening. The continuity event will only take place once a month.

If you have any questions please call the Training Center at 732-446-1550.  Our answering service is available 24 hours a day.

Fraternally,

Timothy J. Fox
Coordinator
Local #9 Training Center
